In the article, the author writes that “sport in general was forgotten by the organizers of the DeStress Week”. Although sports are one way that some students do to relieve stress, the focus of DeStress Week was on other types of stress relief, while sports were the focus of the Fall Sports day. We’re happy to consider adding additional sports-related activities to DeStress Week activities in the future, although they were not the focus.
The CEU Sports Center is a staff unit that is part of CEU Facilities Management, which leases the space and provides the budget for the activities and equipment of the sports program. Under the lease agreement, the weight room is available from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., while the main gymnasium or Sports Hall is available from 4:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Due to Hild School events, it is only available to CEU for limited hours on Mondays from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Other than time reserved for the Zumba Class, club and individual booking is possible during the remaining times. The booking system currently in use is coordinated by the receptionist on the 2nd floor, and seems relatively transparent, although perhaps there are more efficient ways to arrange the booking process.
We would be happy to organize an open meeting after the winter break for students who are interested in discussing issues, problems, suggestions, or wishes for developing CEU sports facilities, and we will communicate a time and date to students in January. In the meantime, please note that the swimming pool, weight room, and gymnasium at the CEU Residence Center are also open for student use.
Sincerely,
Janka Jozsef (Head of Student Life Office)
& Istvan Borsi (CEU Sports Center)
