Apparently the vast majority of Hungarian opposition feels the urgency of organizing coalitions for the next elections that will take place in spring of 2014. About a month ago, on the 23rd of October, a new coalition was declared, under the name “Együtt 2014” (Together 2014) that is led by former prime minister Gordon Bajnai and is meant to be a comprehensive anti-Fidesz force, aiming liberal, leftist and conservative opposers of the current Fidesz-governance.However, LMP, the smallest party of the current parliament that defines itself as environmentalist and is considered as a liberal party, has decided on a party congress not to join Együtt 2014. Apparently there are no masses of conservatives wanting to join this coalition neither. Conservatives, disappointed in Fidesz for its anti-democratic practices, might join in the future a party to-be founded by Lajos Bokros, member of the European Parliament and professor at CEU.
