Yes, a week with George Soros is what the CEU community just had. Between April 23 and April 27, it was possible for all of us to see, observe and listen to our Founder. While in Budapest and CEU, Mr. Soros took some time to talk and share with the fellow CEU community his thoughts on a range of issues. He began with a conversation about his vision of a global public policy school for the 21st century on Tuesday 24. On Friday 27, he also discussed his understanding of “The concept of open society and contemporary political and economical developments”. In between, it was also possible to meet him walking by and around CEU in a quiet and humble manner. Furthermore, he also joined the audience for lectures as the one of revisited constitutionalism, where he listened to faculty and students discussing this topic. All in all, it was a great opportunity to familiarize with the person who has allowed thousands of students to enhance their skills as agents of social change. As the former President of Stanford and Member of the CEU Boards of Trustees Gerhard Casper said, only rarely the members of a University have the opportunity to interact with the Founder.
