So smoking was banned in-doors. Ok. We got that…Then it was banned near the entrances. 5 meters rule. We got this too. What we did not get is why isn’t there any ashtray in front of the university, in the places which, carefully measured from the entrances, smoking is allowed?
We go out, we smoke and we must throw the remains on the ground. Or in one whole in the asphalt that we’ve identified. Or under the cars parked there. If it’s a battle against passive smoking, why must there be passivity with respect to the surrounding area of the university, to its cleanliness, to its appearance? Is the economic crisis so big that CEU doesn’t afford 2, 3 ashtrays installed outside for its own smoking students?
This issue should be addressed. One of us already raised this question in a previous issue. Hopefully someone will take notice of our reasonable request and do something about it.
